Welling Seventh Day Adventist Church

Theme Bible Verses for week commencing Sunday, 7 September 2025.

Theme: Everlasting and universal.

Introduction
The Ten Commandments, written on tablets of stone, by Good, were for all humanity; universal in scope and for perpetuity.

Sunday

Genesis 2: 3: Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.

Monday

Genesis 24: 51 - 52: Here is Rebekah; take her and go, and let her become the wife of your master’s son, as the LORD has directed.” When Abraham’s servant heard what they said, he bowed down to the ground before the LORD.

Tuesday

Exodus 12: 37 - 38: The Israelites journeyed from Rameses to Sukkoth. There were about six hundred thousand men on foot, besides women and children. Many other people went up with them, and also large droves of livestock, both flocks and herds.

Wednesday

Isaiah 56: 6 - 7: “And foreigners who bind themselves to the LORD to minister to him, to love the name of the LORD, and to be his servants, all who keep the Sabbath without desecrating it and who hold fast to my covenant— these I will bring to my holy mountain and give them joy in my house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.”

Thursday

Acts 8: 34 - 35: The eunuch asked Philip, “Tell me, please, who is the prophet talking about, himself or someone else?” Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus.

Friday

Acts 2: 8 - 11: Then how is it that each of us hears them in our native language? Parthians, Medes and Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome (both Jews and converts to Judaism); Cretans and Arabs—we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!”

Saturday

Mark 2: 27 - 28: Then he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”

Conclusion

A Universal Creation Pattern: before they were Hebrew, Jew, Israelite, there was the Sabbath Rest; like the other Commandments, a gift from God, for all humanity; the human race, wherever you are from.
