From Eden’s Closed Gate to Calvary’s Open Door
Introduction
There is only ‘One Way’ back to the Tree of Life.
Sinners basic problem is this, we are exiled from God and, while we are exiled we cannot live a perfect life. We could be cut off eternally from God at death. Hence the need for a Divine Redemptive Plan of Action.
Genesis 2: 9: The LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground - trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Genesis 3: 24: After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.
Genesis 3: 15: And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”
Zechariah13: 7 - 8: “Awake, sword, against my shepherd, against the man who is close to me!” declares the LORD Almighty. “Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered, and I will turn my hand against the little ones.
