The Goodness of God: Walking in His Grace, Mercy and Love

Introduction
Jesus declared: “No one is good except God alone (Mark 10:18). This being the case then God is by definition inclined to bestow blessings, favour, mercy, salvation on us, regardless of what we actually deserve because of his love for us (Psalm 31:19).

This week's theme

Goodness

Sunday

Exodus 33: 19:

And the LORD said, “I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the LORD, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

Monday

Mark 10: 20 - 21:

“Teacher,” he declared, “all these I have kept since I was a boy.” Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” he said. “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

Tuesday

Ephesians 5: 8 - 9:

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth).

Wednesday

Galatians 5: 22 - 23:

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Thursday

Romans 12: 2:

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Friday

Psalm 31: 19:

How abundant are the good things that you have stored up for those who fear you, that you bestow in the sight of all, on those who take refuge in you.

Saturday

Psalm 23: 6:

Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Conclusion

I pray that as we continue in our Christian walk we will envision that the LORD is good and, today, during our day of prayer and fasting, we will taste the goodness of God. May you all be blessed and comforted as you take refuge in God Almighty. (See Psalm 38:4).
