Stewardship

Biblical stewardship is the responsibility God gives His people to wisely manage everything He has entrusted to them, time, talents, money, relationships, and creation itself. Scripture teaches that God is the true owner of all things, and humans are caretakers, not owners: “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it” (Psalm 24:1).
From the beginning, God placed humanity in the world to work it and care for it (Genesis 2:15). Stewardship is therefore an act of worship, showing gratitude and obedience to God through faithful living. Jesus emphasized stewardship in His teachings, especially in the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14–30), reminding believers that God expects them to use what they have been given wisely and fruitfully.
Biblical stewardship also includes generosity and service.
A faithful steward gives, helps others, and uses resources to honour God rather than selfish gain. The Bible teaches that those who are faithful in small things can be trusted with greater things (Luke 16:10).
Ultimately, stewardship carries accountability. Every person will one day give an account to God for how they used what He provided (Romans 14:12). True stewardship reflects a heart that says,
“Everything I have belongs to God, and I will use it for His glory.”
