Your Want Is Somebody Else’s Need.
And my God will meet all your needs according to his riches in glory. Phil 4:19
When I got home last night, the car fuel gauge was showing yellow which meant I was low on petrol.
God had brought me home on a wing and a prayer. When I got in, I went to the flowerpot where I keep my change and counted out £5 in 20 pence pieces. There were no £1 or £2 coins in the pot this time.
The next morning, whilst driving to work I noticed that the petrol indicator was now on the red line. I drove at 70 miles per hour and God performed a miracle and took me to work.
In the evening, I went to Tesco petrol station in Lewisham with my £5 of 20 pence coins. I found £2 in my purse. I was slightly embarrassed with all these coins in a white envelope. The cashier said that she really needed the change.
Although I entered the petrol station embarrassed, I left feeling encouraged that my 20 pence coins was meeting the need for change at the petrol station. And so it is that ‘one man’s want is another man’s need.’
Dear God
Thank you for the daily miracles of answered prayers. For our small needs, of extending the petrol in our cars and for the finances to pay our bills. Thank you when you provide the space in the car park but most of all, daily travelling mercies.
Amen.
