When It Feels Like God Has Forgotten
Sometimes the question forms quietly in our hearts: Could it be that God has forgotten me? Has He turned a blind eye? In moments of pressure, hardship, and discouragement, it can feel as if we are caught in a choke hold, unable to see beyond the weight of our situation.
But even in those moments, Jesus invites us to reach for something greater than our own strength. He invites us to take hold of His strength.
God offers divine strength, strength that:
Makes us patient while our faith matures: James 1:3–4
Holds us steady when trouble roars loudly around us: Psalm 46:1–3
Keeps us calm in conflict so others see God’s transforming work in us: Romans 12:17–18
Jesus assures us: The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry. Psalm 34:15; 1 Peter 3:12
Who Are the Righteous?
Righteousness is not something we achieve by our own goodness. Scripture reminds us:
There is none righteous, no, not one: Romans 3:10
All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God: Romans 3:23
We become righteous only through Jesus—through faith in Him and obedience to His Word:
Through His obedience we are made righteous: Romans 5:19
He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him: 2 Corinthians 5:21
If you love Me, keep My commandments: John 14:15
Divine Strength-Freely Given.
Let this truth settle into your mind God’s strength is available to you, and it is free of charge: Isaiah 55:1
It is the same strength that:
Defeated the devil in the wilderness: Matthew 4:1–11
Endured the suffering and shame of the cross: Hebrews 12:2
It enabled Jesus to die for those who weren’t even born yet; including you and I: Romans 5:6–8
What seems impossible to us is gloriously true. Christ offers us His own strength for every moment of our lives.
Have a Christ centred day.
