Unshakable Peace in a Shaken World

Many people believe that true peace means the absence of heartache, unpaid bills, broken relationships, anything that brings discomfort or concern.
Peace is often defined as the absence of war or visible strife. Yet Jesus offers something far deeper. He says, My Peace I leave with you; My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you (John 14:27). This reveals that there is a divine peace, one that rises above circumstances and surpasses what we naturally understand.
When we look at the life of Christ, we see this peace clearly. It is the peace that passeth all understanding (Philippians 4:7), guarding the heart and mind even in the midst of turmoil. It is the peace that steadies us when the waves of life beat fiercely against us, because we are anchored in the truth that, greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world(1 John 4:4).
This peace strengthens our faith and lifts our perspective. It enables us to trust in the voice of the Archangel, confident that even those who sleep in Christ will rise again (1 Thessalonians 4:16). It reminds us that if five thousand were fed with five loaves and two fish (Matthew 14:17–21), then surely our present needs are not beyond His power.
It is also the peace that sustains us in seasons of sickness and waiting, assuring us that healing is not absent but promised, for unto you that fear My name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in His wings (Malachi 4:2).
Peace, peace, perfect peace, this is the peace that comes from heaven. It is not fragile or temporary, but unchanging and everlasting. As Scripture declares, Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee (Isaiah 26:3).
Let this be the message we carry and share: there is a peace that does not shift with circumstances or fade with time, but a steadfast and eternal peace that comes from the Father.
Have a Christ-centred and peaceful day.
