Welling Seventh Day Adventist Church

Bible Verses for week commencing 20 July 2025

Theme: Godly Character.

Introduction
Express yourself! Use your freedom to pray; praying takes you into the very presence of God Almighty, where there is much power.

Sunday

Psalm 51:1 - 4: Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight; so you are right in your verdict and justified when you judge.

Monday

Psalm 51:10: Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Tuesday

John 6: 37: All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.

Wednesday

Romans 3: 25 - 26: God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of His blood - to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance He had left the sins committed before hand unpunished - He did it to demonstrate His righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.

Thursday

1 Corinthians, chapter 4: 9 - 10: For it seems to me that God has put us apostles on display at the end of the procession, like those condemned to die in the arena. We have been made a spectacle to the whole universe, to angels as well as to human beings. We are fools for Christ, but you are so wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are honoured, we are dishonoured!

Friday

2 Corinthians 5: 20 - 21: We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

Saturday

Philippians 2: 3 - 5: Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus.

Conclusion

This is a call to resist evil and pray unceasingly and, live in the freedom that Jesus has already won for us!
