Bible Verses For Sunday, 15 December 2024

Theme: Get off your “porch” and enter into God’s dwelling.
Sunday

Exodus 23:20-21 “See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along and to bring you to the place I have prepared. Pay attention to him and listen to what he says. Do not rebel against him; he will not forgive your rebellion, since my Name is in him.

Monday

John 10:9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture.

Tuesday

John 14:1-3 “Do not let your hearts be troubled, Trust in God, trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”

Wednesday

John 14:20-21 On that day you will realise that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him.”

Thursday

John 17:23 I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

Friday

Acts 3:21 He must remain in heaven until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets. For Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people, you must listen to everything he tells you. Anyone who does not listen to him will be completely cut off from among his people.’

Saturday

Hebrews 12:2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Conclusion

Here I am! I stand at the and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. Revelation 3:20. The door that Christ is knocking on is not your room (mansion!) in heaven. Jesus wants to abide, dwell, with you now; Jesus wants to creat an abiding relationship with you; essentially this relationship is not about a place (a room or mansion) that you will inhabit in the future but, it is about abiding in a loving relationship with God and his Son, now and forevermore.
