The nobleman’s son was sick in Capernaum.
So Jesus came again to Cana of Galilee where He had made the water into wine. And there was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum. John 4:46
Honours and titles do not protect from sickness.
When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and implored Him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death. John 4:47
We must go ourselves to God in faith.
Then Jesus said to him, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will not believe” John 4:48
This nobleman had faith and his persistence paid off!
The nobleman said to Him, “Sir come down before my child dies!” John 4:49
Jesus did not need to travel to Capernaum to heal the son of the nobleman!
Jesus said to him, “Go your way your son lives.” So the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and went his way. John 4:50
Yesterday at the Seventh hour the nobleman’s son was healed.
And as he was now going down, his servants met him and told him, saying, “Your son lives!” Then he inquired of them the hour when he got better. And they said to him, Yesterday at the Seventh hour the fever left him.” John 4:51-52
Men, Women and children can still find healing in Christ Jesus by believing in Him who is their source of salvation.
So the father knew it was at the same hour in which Jesus said to him, “Your son lives.” And he himself believed, and his whole household. This again is the second sign Jesus did when He came out of Judea into Galilee. John 4:53-54
So Jesus came to Cana, again, where he had previously turned water into “wine.” Capernaum is a town on the edge of the Sea of Galilee, about twenty-five miles east of Cana. For news to get to Capernaum, and someone to travel back, Jesus had to have been in Cana for some time. A high-ranking official makes the journey from Capernaum to Cana, to plead to Jesus to come and heal his son who is gravely ill. Without physically going to Capernaum Jesus tells the official to "go, your son lives.” The Nobleman’s son is healed; his recovery started at the time that Jesus told the father to go home because your son is healed. Jesus spoke the words, the nobleman believed by faith and his son was healed even at a distance. Amen.
