God Will Surely Visit You

“Joseph said to his brethren, ‘I am dying; but God will surely visit you, and bring you out
of this land to the land of which He swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.’” Genesis
50:24 (NKJV)
Joseph’s final words to his brothers are more than a farewell, they are a declaration of
hope rooted in the unwavering promises of God. Though he was dying, Joseph knew
something with absolute certainty: God keeps His word. He reminded his family that
deliverance was not a matter of if, but when. At the time of Joseph’s death, only a few
families had gone down into Egypt. Over the years, they multiplied into a great
multitude. But as their numbers grew, so did their exposure to Egyptian idolatry.
Many began to forget the God of their fathers, His law, His presence, His promises. Yet
not all bowed to the culture around them. Some still worshipped the One true God, the
Creator of heaven and earth. These faithful few were heartsick watching their children
grow up among idols and sin.
Their hearts burned with a longing for freedom, not just from physical bondage, but
spiritual purity. In the shadows of compromise, they cried out to God for deliverance.
And He heard them.
This devotion reminds us that God always hears the cry of His people. Even when the
majority forget, even when darkness surrounds, even when it seems like God is silent,
He will surely visit. Joseph’s confidence in God’s promise became a seed of hope that
sustained generations through suffering.
Reflection:
Are you surrounded by spiritual darkness or compromise?
Do you feel like the world is pulling your heart and your children’s hearts away from
God?
Take heart. Cry out to the Lord. His promises have not failed, and He will come to
deliver.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for Your faithfulness through every generation. Like Joseph, help me to
cling to Your promises even in difficult times. Strengthen my heart to remain faithful
when those around me forget You. Hear my cry, O God, and let Your deliverance come in
Your perfect time. Amen.
Today’s Encouragement:
Even in a culture that forgets God, you can remember His promises. He will surely visit
you.
