Incarnation
Isaiah 7: 14: & John 1: 1 and 14: Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The Virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel. - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Welling Seventh Day Adventist Church
Theme Bible Verses for week commencing Sunday, 6 July 2025
Theme: The Rock OF Ages.
Introduction:
Some Foundation Stones of our Christian Faith.
Propitiation
1 John 4:9-10: This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
Substitution
Romans 5: 8: But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Reconciliation
Colossians 1: 21 -22: Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your mind because of your evil behaviour. But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusations.
Redemption
Hebrews 9:12: He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption.
Ascension
Colossians 3: 1-4: Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
Transformation and Glorification
Romans 8: 29 - 30: For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
Salvation. Jonah 2: 9: But I, with shouts of grateful praise, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. I will say, ‘Salvation comes from the LORD.’ [The above Bible Verses are from the Holy Bible - a New International Version.]
