Welling Seventh Day Adventist Church

Theme Bible Verses For Week Commencing 25 August 2024

Theme: Some Habits of Grace.”

Sunday
Prayer: Hebrew 4:16.

Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Monday
Meditate on the Gospel:
Colossians 1:23.

If you continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.

Tuesday
Obedience:
Titus 2:11-12.

For the Grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.

Wednesday
Humility: James 4:6.

But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

Thursday
Fellowship with the saints: Ephesians 4:29.

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

Friday
Worship:
Ephesians 1:5-6.

In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will. To the glory of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.

Saturday
Evangelism:
2 Corinthians 5:18-20.

All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation
That God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled with God.

Conclusion
His Grace is sufficient:
2 Corinthians 12:9.

But he said to me, “My Grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weakness, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
Amen and Amen.
