Welling Seventh Day Adventist Church

Bible Verses for week commencing Sunday 17 August 2025

Theme: Our children and their well being.

Introduction
I would like everyone reading the following Bible Verses to pray earnestly for “our” children, before they return to and, whilst they are at their respective places of learning, be it nursery, school, college, or university.

Sunday

Psalm 127: 3: Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him.

Monday

Proverbs 22: 6: Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.

Tuesday

Daniel 1: 17 - 20: To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning. And Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds. At the end of the time set by the king to bring them into his service, the chief official presented them to Nebuchadnezzar. The king talked with them, and he found none equal to Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah; so they entered the king’s service. In every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king questioned them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters in his whole kingdom.

Wednesday

Deuteronomy 30: 19 - 20: This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the LORD is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Thursday

1 Samuel 16 : 7: But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

Friday

Luke 2 : 47: Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers.

Saturday

1 Corinthians 1 : 29 - 30: It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”

Conclusion

1 Kings 3: 9 - 10: So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours?” The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for this. - [The above verses are from the Holy Bible, a New International Version. ]
