Lamentations 3: 22 - 23:
It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
Introduction
Faithfulness can be defined as being loyal, steadfast, never changing; two aspects of faithfulness are as follows:
God’s Faithfulness
God always keeps His promises and, does not change.
His mercy, care and love last through every generation.
Human Faithfulness
People are asked to stay loyal to God and be kind to others.
Faithfulness
It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations.
His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.
If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.
Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
It is noteworthy that Faithfulness is a virtue listed in the Fruit of the Spirit (refer to Galatians 5: 22 - 23). Now, since Faithfulness is a “Fruit of the Spirit”, true Biblical Faithfulness cannot be achieved by human efforts alone. Humans need the in-working of the Holy Spirit which is possible as they follow God.
