Imagine if it were made known to us that the president, prime minister, king, or any ruler had a personal interest in our well-being, so much so that they would fight for us. What confidence, joy, and assurance that would bring!
Hollywood has produced countless stories of ordinary people discovering they are actually royalty. Those classic Cinderella stories of going from rags to riches capture our imagination, and sometimes we wish that story could be ours.
But what if I told you that reality is greater than fiction? What if I told you that, through Christ, you and I have been called into a royal family?
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.(1 Peter 2:9)
What if I told you that your inheritance is real? The challenge is to believe God’s promise and patiently wait for its fulfillment, keeping His commandments and holding fast the faith of Jesus.
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. (John 14:1-3)
Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. (Revelation 14:12)
The Lord has in store for you and me far more than our finite minds can comprehend. We are children of the King, heirs of a kingdom that will never pass away.
So today, speak life into someone who feels insignificant, forgotten, or unworthy. Remind them that they are chosen, loved, and called by God. Remind them that their story is not defined by where they are today, but by the inheritance Christ has prepared for them.
