Devotion
Good morning!!!
Blessings to you, your families and communities
God is for us and his greatest gift to us was His son Jesus Christ.
We as believers seek communion, connection in order to make sense of life events. There are significant events that we will continue to grapple with in this life. However we must TRUST that GOD is a good GOD.
The plan of the enemy is to kill, steal and destroy- this is not God’s plan. Christ says he comes that we might experience life more abundantly.
This requires a mindset change in us. It is not the event itself that is definitive- but how we choose to respond to it.
When challenges arise these reveal what we truly believe.
God is able to keep you from falling. This could be falling into despair, depression, hopelessness or unbelief.
How do we keep from falling, it’s simply being in relationship
How do we build relationship? It’s being intentional with our time, energy, focus and living a prayerful life.
Fundamentally we seek to be in relationship with others who we believe care and love us.
Faith requires us to believe that God is love. As a result of this, a life without connection to him is pointless and is devoid of meaning.
We must never loose sight of the fact that we live in a sinful world and we will experience at times the consequences of sin in our own lives and in the lives of those we love.
What does this mean? Sin is like being trapped in a house on fire. We need to escape and in the process of getting to a place of safety we do not arrive there unscathed. We carry the scars of sin internally and externally.
Holding to God’s love assures us that what he allows in life can work for our good.
