Good day,
Sometimes it can feel like it’s just you against the world. Time and again, life delivers heavy blows: depression, financial hardshiplife, oppression, loneliness, disappointment and the list goes on. We fight back, inevitably we do, but at times it feels like we are beating the air.
There are two promises I would love you to consider, appreciate, and be confident in:
1. Jesus says, When you go through the fire, I will be with you -Isaiah 43:2. You are never alone. That is the only reason we are still alive today. The light of Jesus guides and protects us.
2. Do you have enemies, those who, by their design, want to destroy you? The Word declares, No weapon formed against you shall prosper – Isaiah 54:17. Equally, Jesus asks that we pray for those who persecute us. And when retaliation threatens our conscience, He reminds us: Vengeance is Mine; I will repay.
In light of these assurances:
Why worry when you can pray?
Why fight when we have a Champion—Jesus Christ the Righteous, the conquering Lion of the tribe of Judah?
Why stress when David testified that throughout his life, even in old age, he never saw the righteous forsaken, nor their seed begging bread?
Our only move is to trust and obey.
