There is an old adage that says, Why worry when you can pray? While this reminds us to pray and trust God for the answer, the part that often troubles many of us is the waiting.
We believe that those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, yet it is the process of waiting that can become difficult. When God says, My ways are not your ways, we understand. When He promises provision and blessings beyond what we can imagine, we believe Him. What we often struggle to understand is why the journey has to be so hard or take so long.
Patience is a virtue that is often overlooked. Patience says, Wait, for God is in control. Patience is not denial; it is choosing to trust God even when the storms of life are raging around us. It is believing that the same God who spoke, Peace, be still, is still able to calm every situation today. Isaiah 60:22 reminds us, In its time I, the Lord, will make it happen.
When we feel abandoned, as though we have been left to face the hardships of life alone, we must remember that we serve a mighty God. When you cannot see His hand, trust His heart. Lazarus was in the grave for four days, the man at the pool waited thirty eight years, and the woman with the issue of blood suffered for twelve years, yet God was not too late for any of them.

So wait, and do not complain. The challenges you face today will not last forever. In a little while, you will look back and see that God was with you all along.
