If Scripture Were Written Today: Where Would You Stand?

Featured image

Good day,
If the Bible were being written today, what would your account be?
Would you be like King David; repentant and after God’s own heart (1 Samuel 13:14; Psalm 51) or Deborah, faithful and bold in obedience (Judges 4–5)? Would you resemble Peter before he was fully matured, full of zeal yet quick to act (John 18:10–11; Luke 22:54–62)?
Would there be any likeness to the crowd who cried, Crucify Him! His blood be on us (Matthew 27:22–25; Luke 23:20–23)? Or perhaps like Uzzah, trying to help God by steadying the Ark, even though the entire approach was contrary to His instructions (2 Samuel 6:3–7; 1 Chronicles 13:9–10)?
Are you holding on to ideas, doctrines, or practices that go against God; yet clinging to them, believing you can somehow justify or reshape them?
Be honest with yourself
Would your life reflect Saul, resisting and kicking against the pricks (Acts 9:1–6; 26:14)? Or King Agrippa, saying, Almost you persuade me, delaying a full commitment to Christ (Acts 26:27–28)?
Perhaps you see yourself in:
the woman caught in adultery, in need of mercy (John 8:3–11) the centurion, full of faith (Matthew 8:5–13; Luke 7:1–10)
Rhoda, surprised by answered prayer (Acts 12:12–15) the woman at the well, transformed after encountering Jesus (John 4:5–30)
Where would your walk be recorded, among those who resisted, delayed, doubted, or those who believed, obeyed, and followed?
Let us live our lives in such a way that heaven is pleased. Live as though God has told you He will appear within the next hour.
Search the Scriptures and examine your heart (2 Corinthians 13:5). Where do you stand today?
Have a Christ-centred day.
