Reaching the end of this year and standing at the threshold of 2026 is no small matter. It has been God, always God, who has sustained our lives. He has fed us, comforted, saved, secured, and shielded us through every trial and mayhem we have faced. As Scripture reminds us, it is God who works in us to will and to do of His good pleasure.
This year has taught us a sobering truth: life can shift without warning. In a single moment, circumstances can turn difficult or unexpectedly favourable. Yet through every change, God has remained faithful and present.
Hebrews 13:8 gives us this assurance that Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever.
As we step into the year ahead, my encouragement comes from Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. This is a call to intentional, wholehearted devotion.
This same choice stands before us today. The year ahead calls for a deliberate commitment to remain in God’s hands. There is true profit there that is not of this world, but of eternal value. There is hope that does not disappoint, deliverance that is sure, and salvation that is secure.
May we walk into the future anchored in Christ, guided by His truth, and confident in His unchanging nature.
Life may change suddenly, but Christ remains the same.
Choosing Him for the year ahead.
