Many people have been betrayed by those they trusted, family, friends, coworkers, business associates and the list goes on.
At times, we share our deepest thoughts with these individuals, only to be disappointed when, sooner or later, they reveal what was told in confidence or use our vulnerabilities in ways that make life uncomfortable.
If you know me, you probably know where I’m going with this. But just to confirm it, I will ask you a question:
Have you ever shared a secret in the Throne Room of Grace and later heard someone else repeat it?
God calls us into conversation – Come now let us reason says the Lord (Isaiah 1:18).
He calls us to confession and cleansing -If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness
(1 John 1:9).
He calls us into new life – Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
(2 Corinthians 5:17).
The world may fail us. People may forsake us. But Jesus makes a declaration unlike any other through the psalmist:
I was young, and now I am old; yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread (Psalm 37:25).
Hold on to this promise:
I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore, with loving kindness I have drawn you (Jeremiah 31:3).
Have a Christ centred day.
