Welling Seventh Day Adventist Church
Bible verses for week commencing Sunday, 04 February 2024.
Introduction
Since God is Omniscient, Omnipresent and Omnipotent should He have stopped Adam and Eve from disobeying Him and sinning with all its subsequent ugly consequences?
Adam and Eve were created “Good” so why did they “choose” to do something contrary to God’s expressed instructions; should God have stopped them exercising their free will?

Conclusion
The glory of God is the preeminent goal of God’s Creation. The universe was created to display God’s Glory (see Psalm 19:1).
The part of the universe, that best displays the glory of our God, is our “fallen” world. I say this because God has always had a plan to restore our world to its original perfection.
We need grace and God has been abundant in his grace; we cannot fathom our God’s justice, love and mercy. However, his wrath were displayed and will be seen again in the future when he deals with Satan once and for all (see Revelation 20:7-10).
Had God decided not to create Lucifer, Adam and Eve, based on his foreknowledge of their disobedience – we would not know the Perfect Love of God.
The righteous judgement of all sin was executed at The Cross and God’s grace was on universal display; his Son’s words were: “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.” And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
Luke 23:34
This world, and this world only, needed a Saviour and, God in his tender and infinite mercy and love provided One.
