Introduction

As some Christians, secularist and merchants count down to Christmas during this ‘Advent’ season I would like to point you to the Second Advent, as prophesied in the Bible (both Old Testament and New Testament).

Do you wonder why some people are focussing on the First Advent (beautiful and wonderful as that historical event was), or, just ‘counting down’, but not focussing on anything spiritual. When did the emphasis change so significantly for some Christians from the Second Advent to the First Advent.

Sunday

I will tell of the kindness of the Lord, the deeds for which he is to be praised, according to all the Lord has done for us – yes, the many good things he has done for the house of Israel, according to his compassion and many kindness.

Isaiah 63:7

Monday

You will flee by my mountain valley, for it will extend to Azel. You will flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the Lord my God will come, and all the holy ones with Him.

Zechariah 14:5.

Tuesday

Alas for that day! For the day of the Lord is near; it will come like destruction from the Almighty.

Wednesday

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

Thursday

“Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in same way you have seen him go into heaven.”

Acts 1:11

Friday

They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings – and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.
