Theme Bible Verses for week commencing Sunday, 28 September 2025

Theme: Complete, mature, righteous.

Introduction
The Biblical call to be perfect (see Matthew 5: 8 and God’s Abundant Grace refer to Romans 3: 23); is there a dichotomy here; what are your thoughts on this issue?

Sunday

Isaiah 43: 24 - 25: You have not bought any fragrant calamus for me, or lavished on me the fat of your sacrifices. But you have burdened me with your sins and wearied me with your offenses. “I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.

Monday

Romans 5: 20: The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more.

Tuesday

2 Corinthians 9: 8: And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

Wednesday

1 Peter 4: 8: Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.

Thursday

2 Corinthians 12: 9: But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Friday

1 John 1: 9: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness

Saturday

Romans 12: 2: Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Conclusion

As we aspire to be perfect, there is a need for us human beings to remember who it is that enables us to strive for perfection. It is also essential to remember that for us to attain complete acceptance by God we need to avail ourselves to *His Grace*, which in essence is the password into God’s eternal kingdom! John 3: 35: The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.
